The movie Twilight will be the star of the Teen Choice Awards 2009 this month in an event hosted by The Jonas Brothers with performances by Miley Cyrus and the Black Eyed Peas.

The casts of Twilight, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, and Kellan Lutz, and the network’s new musical comedy series Glee, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Jenna Ushkowitz, Chris Colver, Amber Riley, and Kevin McHale will be at the event, along with other celebtiries.

Fans could vote for their favorites until August 1st. And you can find out who won the Teen Choice Awards, including how many of the 12 awards it was nominated for is actually a win for Twilight, on August 10th. The movie is even up for two best movie awards, one for drama and one for comedy!

Robert Pattinson could even take the surfboard away from Brad Pitt (nominated for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) as Choice Movie Actor: Drama, and Kristen Stewart could do the same to Angelina Jolie (up for Changeling) as Choice Movie Actress: Drama. Did the Twilight couple ever dream they would be competing with such tremendous movie star fame? Even considering this is a viewers-choice awards show, being up against the ultimate Hollywood power couple has to be some kind of achievement.

And there is of course the Choice Movie: Liplock surfboard, where Stewart and Pattinson will compete with Miley Cyrus and Lucas Till, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron, Freida Pinto and Dev Patel from Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire, and even Owen Wilson and Marley the dog!

Further nominations for Twilight include Taylor Lautner for Choice Movie: Fresh Face Male, Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed in the Choice Movie: Fresh Face Female category,  and Robert Pattinson vs. Cam Gigandet for Choice Movie: Rumble.

Other bigtime nominees this year are the hosts, The Jonas Brothers, who have been nominated for 9 Teen Choice Awards including Choice TV Actor: Comedy as a threesome for their Disney Channel show Jonas (nominated for Choice TV: Breakout Show), as well as nods in the Choice Red Carpet Icon: Male and Choice Male Hottie categories. Could they be getting tired of being seen as one single person? The only one who got his own nomination is Frankie Jonas, the trio’s little brother, who is up for Choice TV: Breakout Star Male. The Jonas Brothers song “Before The Storm,” featuring Miley Cyrus, is also nominated for Choice Summer Song. Cyrus will perform at the event, and is also nominated for Choice Music: Female Artist and Choice TV Actress: Comedy.

Finally, other Summer nominations include So You Think You Can Dance in Choice Summer TV and both stars from the TV movie Princess Protection Program, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, for Choice Summer TV Star: Female. Even the hilarious Ellen Degeneres got a nod for Choice Twitter.
